Enjoy a very tasteful Amsterdam BeatClub Sunday afternoon/evening at Het Rijk van de Keizer, one of Amsterdam's true hidden treasures! Tucked away in the lush greenery of the Gardens of West, nestled between art and history, lies this place where magic becomes tangible. The "Déjeuner Dînatoire Dansant" arrangement includes a refreshing cocktail and amuse at entrance, followed by a 3-course dinner *, live music by The Skepticals, ABC deejays Ir. Vendermeulen & Asnavoura, and lots of fun & dancing! We hope to see you all at this beautiful place where creativity, hospitality, and culinary delights converge.

Like so many good things in life, it’s Chuck Berry’s fault. Young Mark Gamsjager heard the St. Louis master’s incredible dexterity, invention and six-string swagger and things would never be the same. The Shakespeare of Rock and Roll left his mark on Mark in a deep way. Others would follow suit —Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Chet Atkins, jazzman Charlie Byrd— each serving as both an inspiration and a stepping stone on Gamsjager’s personal path to guitar glory.

But, savvy, even at that tender age, Gamsjager, who played in folk and bluegrass bands even before graduating high school, realized that fancy pickin’ an sassy singin’ wasn’t enough. If you wanted to hold a crowd, you had to entertain. And Mark Gamsjager, hair pomped high, a wiggle in the shoulders and a wink in the eye, is an entertainer through and through. He listens to the audience with a conductor’s ear, making every song, every passage, every note hit home.

Gamsjager’s guitar has taken him across the Atlantic and all across the United States. In Italy, they shimmy when Gamsjager sings, in Texas, they swing, and at home, in New York State’s Capital Region, the dance floors just shake.

Gamsjager embodies American roots music, yes, with a strong rockabilly penchant, but with touches of honky tonk energy, country storytelling and bluegrass wit, too.

live: The Sybians (60's Boss Reggae)
The Sybians are the dark horse of 60's rude reggae. The Amsterdam-based band feature veterans from bands like The Upsessions and the founder of the Reggae Recipe DJ collective. Armed with double organs, The Sybians play energetic, bass-focused, authentic ska, rocksteady, and early reggae. The way it was done in the '60s: funky and gritty! Following an early 2023 release of their debut EP and a feature on the Dutch Skasjock vol.3, "Saddle Up With The Sybians" marks The Sybians’ first full-length album. With a blend of two organs, vibrant horns, pulsating drums and bass, along with some enticing vocals, the band’s funky, dirty musical approach sets the stage for an energetic vibe that makes you want to move your dancing feet and keep the party going. A beat you can't beat, with organs on stampede!
